Generations of Auction Success

Jack Perry - Founder of Scott Perry & Co.

Back in 1965, our father, Jack B. Perry, attended auction school in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated and returned to the Western New York & Buffalo area and started his own auction business, Jack Perry's Auction Service. For the next 20 years he held a weekly consignment auction on Thursday nights in Wilson, NY.

As the business grew, so did his reputation. He sold all around New York State, was a board member of the New York State Auctioneers Association, and sold all types or property from antiques and estates to farms and machinery. It was a family run business including his 3 daughters (Sue, Sonja and Kim) and his son-in-law (Jim). His oldest son, Scott, started working for him from the bottom of the auction ladder. Like all the rest of the auctioneers before him -- selling popcorn, as did Jack's youngest son, TJ, for a quarter a bag.

As Scott matured, he also attended auction school in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1982, he graduated and came back to the Western NY and Buffalo area as an auctioneer -- side by side with Jack for the rest of his time.

Scott eventually took over the company in 1985 and has been steadily growing the auction business ever since. Scott hopes to continue Jack's legacy with the addition of his two children, passing the business on to the third generation of Perry's.
